What Is This Session About?

Creating learning content is only part of effective workplace learning. Educators must also design engaging learning experiences, authentic assessments, and meaningful feedback while ensuring AI is used responsibly and inclusively. This programme equips adult educators and workplace learning professionals to redesign learning and assessment experiences using Google AI tools supported by established learning design principles.

Participants learn to diagnose learner engagement challenges, design authentic assessments, analyse learner evidence, and develop scalable AI-supported feedback workflows that maintain human judgement and ethical practice. Through hands-on redesign activities, collaborative prototyping, and workplace-based application, learners create practical solutions that enhance participation, assessment quality, and learner support.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to implement learner-centred, AI-enhanced learning experiences that strengthen engagement, improve feedback, and support meaningful learning outcomes in their own professional contexts.

Together with Content Architect with Google AI: Crafting High-Impact Learning Resources, this programme forms the intermediate tier of the IAL-Google (ADAPT) series. Participants who complete both programmes will receive a joint IAL-Google certificate.

What Does The Session Cover?

Engagement and assessment are where many learning designs quietly fail, and where AI is most often misapplied. Unlike AI-for-content courses, this course focuses on learning architecture, i.e., the design of engagement, assessment, evidence, and feedback as a coherent learner experience. This course equips educators to design inclusive, engaging, AI-enhanced learning and assessment experiences grounded in authentic assessment, constructive alignment, and inclusive design rather than novelty. Participants learn to diagnose learner engagement gaps, redesign activities for accessibility and participation, build AI-enhanced assessment and feedback workflows, and scale feedback responsibly with ethical and wellbeing safeguards built in.

What distinguishes this course is its pairing of sound learning-design principles with practical Google AI capability, applied through hands-on design and collaborative prototyping. Participants leave able to apply AI-enhanced learning experience design strategies confidently within their educational and organisational contexts, with assessment workflows that support genuine learning improvement.

Who Is It Suitable For?

This intermediate programme is designed for professionals involved in workplace learning, assessment design, and learner engagement, including:

  • Adult educators, trainers, and facilitators seeking to redesign learning and assessment experiences using AI tools
